Lies you tell yourself

Lie number 1. Everyone is out to get me.

Truth. The overwhelmingly vast majority of people on this planet don’t wish you ill nor do they particularly wish you well. Unless you are making yourself a target by calling attention to yourself in some negative manner like- having something others in power really want, shaking the status quo or angering some authoritative entity- then chances are you are simply being overlooked or ignored.

Good things happen everyday. Horrible things happen everyday. In 99.9 percent of those situations, you had nothing whatsoever even remotely to do with any of it. Unless you are some sort of really influential person, you impact only your very small and limited surroundings. That is not to say that you don’t have enemies in your area of encounters, just saying that an individual’s small environment is far from being everyone.

Maybe you should strive in developing meaningful relationships with good people who actually matter in your life. Your inner circle, those who can help you and whom you can help in return.

Most importantly develop a positive relationship with yourself. You have the potential to be your own worst enemy. Enemies operate by utilizing maneuvers like dishonesty, manipulation and fear tactics. Don’t use these ploys on yourself. Stop lying to yourself. Stop limiting yourself. Don’t let fear control you.

Lie number 2. Only bad things happen to me.

Truth. At least one good thing happened to you or you wouldn’t be here. You don’t live to glorify yourself. You live to glorify our Creator. Our Heavenly Father and Family along with all their ministering angels are rooting for you. They aren’t out to get you. They want only the very best for you.

Free-will ensures good things AND bad things can be manifested by human action. You keep doing good. You can’t control what others do. If another causes pain or ill-will to befall you, they will be held accountable for their actions. It is not a matter of if but when. Don’t eagerly await or celebrate vengeance, just keep doing good, working toward your own well-being.

Lie number 3. It’s selfish to even want success for myself.

Truth. Not only do you deserve peace and prosperity, it is your responsibility to peacefully prosper. Again, you do not live your life for you. You live your life for your Heavenly Family. You owe it to them to do the utmost best with your time here on this earth. You owe it to them to develop your mind and soul to its fullest capacity so you can take that greatness with you when you return to your Heavenly Family.

Most importantly, it is your responsibility to help others do the very same with their time here on earth. Time is short. You won’t be here forever. Grow to your utmost capabilities and then pass those blessings on to others. So do be thankful for and content with what you currently have but do not feel guilty for wanting and asking for more.

Innovation is the result of striving for more. That is progress. That is human growth. Our creative will is what keeps righteousness expanding and evil from proliferating. This world is not finished. Creation isn’t finished. We are meant to create and improve upon God’s very own creation. Understand that.

Lie number 4. Things will never get better.

Truth. Patterns, cycles, ups and downs- for better or worse, the only thing certain is change. Nothing is permanent, the good times nor the bad. During good times prepare for pitfalls because they are inevitable. During bad times look forward to upcoming opportunities because they too are inevitable. Always be accommodating, making the best out of whatever circumstance you are in with whatever resources you have on hand.

Be thankful for what you do have and live in each moment with patience and perseverance. Learn from hardship and use it to your advantage. Keep panic at bay and ride out the tough times. It’s not what you do but how you do it. Handle hardships with class. This builds character, and character is yours to keep for an eternity. No one can take it from you so grow it, enrich it, cherish it.

I am very thankful for you, the reader. I sincerely wish you the very best. Put your thoughts out there. Please feel free to reply below.
